We all are born with a sixth sense, the ability to connect psychically with the subtle energies around us.

By tuning into your psychic abilities, you’ll gain the confidence, clarity, and trust to make successful decisions and navigate through life’s challenges with grace. Most importantly, you’ll be able to express your Soul’s potential and purpose fully.
By using your extrasensory abilities to provide psychic insight, support, and guidance for family, friends, or clients, you can empower others to make decisions that align with their soul’s purpose. Whether you’re a newbie or you’ve been practicing your psychic skills and want to amp them up, here are five ways to kick your psychic powers into high gear.
1. Own it.
You are psychic. When you read these words, what do you feel? Does a full-bodied “Yes!” reverberate in your bones? Or, does “I’m not so sure” pop into your head? If the latter, then it’s time to start owning your inner psychic. Besides, you wouldn’t be reading this unless you’d had some sort of psychic experience already.
So, grab a journal and pen! Get quiet. Reflect on all the times you’ve had those “gut feelings” or “intuitive hunches” in your life. They don’t have to be grandiose moments. Even subtle hits count…things like thinking of a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while and the next day she texts you, wanting to meet for coffee. Maybe you’ve had a gut feeling or a dream that later came true, or had an intuitive insight about something or someone that you learned later was real.
Reflecting on how your psychic sensitivity has been active in your life all along helps you to ground, embody, and embrace your psychic ability.
2. Meditate Daily.
If you’ve been with me for a while, you know how much I talk about the power of meditation. Closing your eyes and getting quiet helps you tune into your inner voice and sense your own energetic field.
We’re constantly inundated – both consciously and subconsciously – with stimulation. This sensory overload creates extra noise that interferes with messages from your psychic awareness.
I’ve created a special Psychic Meditation to help you strengthen your psychic perception. You can practice this meditation daily, before you work with a client, or whenever you want to tune into your Higher Self.
3. Embrace Your Sensitivity by Loving All Your Senses.
If you’re reading this, you’re already a “sensitive,” keenly aware of the subtle energies around you. You may call yourself “an empath,” “a highly sensitive person,” or even “an introvert.” However you define your special gift, your sensitivity is a superpower. Do you want to intensify it? Or, do you just want to keep it under control?
Some of you may have “stopped being so sensitive” because someone told you that being ultra-sensitive is not okay. Or, maybe your intuitive talents are just too much for you to handle. Did you know you can turn the dial up and down on your extrasensory perception so you’re not picking up on so much static telepathic energy? You can!
Try the fun and powerful practice below – you can do this exercise whenever you want to tone down any of your second-sight abilities. And, you can do the exercise when you feel it’s safe for you to open up to your psychic awareness once again.
This exercise is best done outdoors. Take a walk, go to a park – find a place or space to tune into the peaceful ambiance of nature. Be still. Bring your awareness to all of your senses – sight, sound, feeling, smell, taste, and intuition. Now, turn up the dial – become aware of every detail – notice every shade of green in the grass, trees, and landscape. Hear the birds chirping, listen to the wind in the trees. Feel the sun against your face, the ground beneath your feet. Breathe in deeply, smell the breeze. Reach down and pluck a piece of grass. Taste it. Capture every sensation, be mindful of each moment, expand your psychic senses. As you’re in that flow, connect with nature – the sky, a tree, the clouds, the sun – be aware of everything. Can you pick up an intuitive message from nature? Don’t think, just allow nature’s insights to flow to you and through you.
Have fun with this. The more you bring presence to your senses, the more fully you engage them, the more you attune to the subtle energies around you. Play!
4. Connect with Your Soul or Higher Self.
The word psychic comes from the Greek word psuche (psychê), meaning “soul.” Being psychic is truly about tapping into and living from your Soul. Your Soul or “Higher Self” is the most brilliant part of you; it is already who you desire to be. When you connect with your Soul, you can build a strong foundation based on who you truly are. Then, you can create the life you were meant to live with clarity and confidence.
Here is a simple way to start living from your soul. Close your eyes. Take several deep breaths. Bring your awareness to the present, relax into your body. Say this affirmation aloud:
“My brilliant, all-knowing, Soul-self and Source (or ‘God’ / ‘Universe’ / ‘Spirit’ / ‘Infinite Intelligence’, whatever resonates with you), I trust that you are here within me, to guide me, to keep me aligned with my highest path. I welcome your support. I open to my psychic senses, I’m ready to listen and receive the guidance and wisdom that will help me stay aligned with my true purpose. And so it is. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
Now, breathe in. Let your psychic abilities expand, both inwardly and outwardly. Allow each breath you take to strengthen you. With each exhale, soften. Bring your awareness to your Soul. Tune in. Ask your Higher Self for guidance. Ask questions. When you are ready, thank your Soul-self again. Breathe in and out. Open your eyes.
5. Notice Your First Energetic Impressions.
Psychic information is transmitted energetically. We can sense intuitively what’s happening when we get focused, and place our full attention on being in the moment. Throughout your day, notice your first energetic impressions or feelings about everything you experience.
For example, when you walk into a room, be present. What does the room feel like? Is it calm? Erratic? Chaotic? Upbeat? When you meet up with a friend or speak with a client, how does their energy feel? Are they happy? Nervous? Frustrated? Bored? When you’re eating dinner, pay attention. How does your body feel? Do you feel light? Heavy? Sluggish? Awake? By bringing this deep awareness to every event of your day, you tune in psychically to the energy of each moment, strengthening your ability to receive psychic impressions.
