Lately I’ve grown quite irritated when hearing or reading a certain term being tossed around in the spiritual, personal development, coaching community.

That term is “Woo Woo.”

Woo woo is used to often describe the lifestyle and practices of what the Western world likes to deem “alternative therapies” such as intuitive or psychic arts, energy healing, acupuncture, herbal remedies, meditation, and even down to one’s ability to be more in touch with themselves emotionally.

This is where I disagree and have found the word to be disempowering in many ways.

When I hear someone use it in the context of…

“Oh I’m an energy healer, it’s totally a woo woo thing (nervous chuckle).”

“I know it’s kinda woo but I started to meditate.”

“It’s a bit woo woo but have you heard of mercury retrograde?”

It becomes a subtle apology being disguised through humor about who you are.

Who you are is magnificent and if you love to delve into the realms of spirit, talking to your Angels, astrology, or whatever ways you connect with your own Soul, there’s no apologizing necessary for that.

If you find yourself using the term to describe your services, your spiritual practices, or being emotional or sensitive then I invite you to watch this video.

I share with you why I’m over the term woo woo and how it disempowers and disconnects us from our intuition, spirituality, and ancient wisdom.

There’s nothing “woo” or alternative about being in touch with your intuition, heart and soul.  Tweet this!

Let’s continue the conversation. I would love to hear your thoughts about the “woo woo” in the comments below.

Thank you so much for watching!
